We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.
Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj.
With the help of 1400 engineers, risk and operations professionals, we offer 150 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.
Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1100 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration and Core Banking.
We enjoy a flexible way of working and a highly collaborative environment, where fair and constructive feedback is encouraged. Work ethics, honesty and knowledge sharing are key to our teams and we’re always looking for like-minded people.

The Mission
The Global Authentication Solution provides a standard way to identify and authenticate ING customers worldwide. Using a plug-in architecture, it supports multiple authentication means such as passwords and biometrics, device trust, two-factor (2FA), one-time passwords (OTP), hardware tokens, etc. The solution offers effortless integration for both mobile (iOS and Android) and web applications.
Together with the other teams within the One Gate product area, we strive to provide uniform authentication, approval & consent, and security across ING to safeguard the trust with our customers.
Your day to day
Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

While wearing this feature owner hat, you will work together with architects, UX designers and product owners to determine the best course of action
Since you are writing software that safeguards the customers money and assets, code quality is of the utmost importance: you will write, execute, and maintain a focused set of unit-tests and end-to-end tests to ensure the efficiency and reliability of the code you write; performance tests will also warrant the robustness of the overall software solution
Make sure the software runs within parameters, you will come up with, and implement utilization and performance metrics to identify hotspots, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvements and automations
You will update and create high-quality documentation that will help your consumers to get a complete understanding of the systems that your team maintains; good documentation will spare you valuable support time, so you help yourself by helping others!
As part of the on-call shifts, you will offer support for team assets that are running in the production environment.
